Ld Kick Off Season

Carlsbad High School’s National Champion Lancer Dancers are back in school and kicking off their busy training schedule that will see them defend their title at Nationals, but that’s not all they’ve been doing lately. No, they’ve also been giving back to the community.

The Lancer Dancers are committed to giving back to the Carlsbad and the surrounding communities and have held multiple food drives and volunteered hundreds of community service hours as a team. They have given their time to so many worthy causes, but have found a real passion for sharing their love of dance and giving back to children, especially those in need.

For more details on the work the girls have done over the summer (as well as what they plan to do during the coming year) follow the jump.National Champions, Carlsbad Lancer Dancers’ kick off year giving back to community

Carlsbad, CA- National Champions Carlsbad Lancer Dancers’ kick off year giving back to the community as they begin the road back to Nationals to defend their title. With the start of the school year, is the start of the season for the Carlsbad National Championship team, The Lancer Dancers. Although the formal schedule of conditioning, rehearsals and fund raising for has begun, none of the dancers really took the summer off! All of the girls took advanced dance technique classes and were all involved community service.

Captain, Camille Posard and the Lancer Dancers recently became sponsors of a local chapter of Everybody Dance Now! (EDN). Everybody Dance Now is a youth-run nonprofit organization that encourages free dance instruction to young people throughout the country. Their mission is to not only inspire young people through dance, but to empower them as agents of social change. The team really believes in what EDN promotes and have jumped into making a difference.

Over the summer the team donated their time to a group of military families at Camp Pendleton, keeping the children entertained and teaching dance while their parents attended a food distribution run by Hand UP Food Pantry. Camille, noted “It was a toss- up as to who had more fun, the kids or us! We had a great time sharing our love of dance to kids who might not be able to afford dance lessons”. The team felt very proud to have been asked to help local marines and their families and will be teaching more free classes. If any organization that serves underprivileged children is interested in having the Lancer Dancers teach class or lead an event please contact us at www.lancerdancers.com

The team also teaches dance classes as a fund-raiser to get to Nationals in Orlando, Florida and sign ups for JR Lancer Dancer Classes are now. JR Lancer Dancer Students from Kinder to 8th grade take weekly classes at Carlsbad High School taught by the Lancer Dancers and get to experience first hand how the National Champions prepare for competition. The JR Lancer Dancers also get the opportunity to perform the Lancer Dancer Showcase December 15-17 at the Carlsbad Community Center and other community events. Sign up forms are available for download at Lancer Dancers.com and space is limited so early sign ups are encouraged. Look for all the details and contact information at: www.lancerdancers.com

It’s great to hear and read about todays youth being so committed in giving back to the community. They are such a positive and inspiring group of young people. Also have to give a shout out to my cousins girls Tori and Taylor Kulman who are apart of this talented group of young ladies. I’m so very proud of them

What a beautiful group of young women who understand that, “…beauty is as beauty does.” In giving back to the community they dispel the negative aspects of youth today. Under the leadership of Katie, (granddaughter) and Kaitlyn, (adopted granddaughter) they are taught by example. These girls are the first to “give back” and most of them maintain a wonderful GPA. Lancers—you do all of us proud!!!!! Thanks too to Miss Laura, a magnificent, respected coach!!! gramma geo
