On Friday, March16, 2012 a jury decided that Kelly School shooter Brendon O’Rourke was legally sane when he began shooting Carlsbad school children on October 8, 2010, according to a story in the North County Times.
O’Rourke had no reaction as the verdict was read, and instead sat with a blank expression and his mouth hanging slightly open —- a slack look he has worn during many of his courtroom appearances since his arrest in the wake of the shooting spree.
O’Rourke faces more than 100 years behind bars. He will be sentenced on April 20, 2012 on, as the story points out, the 13th anniversary of the Columbine High School shootings.
