Man Arrested For Carlsbad Bank Robbery

by The Editors on January 22, 2009

Charles Hollingsworth, 48, of Vista who is suspected of robbing the Wachovia Bank on El Camino Real at 10:45 AM January 21, 2008 was soon arrested in Vista with a “truck full of money,” according to a story in the North County Times.

The robber passed a note to a teller demanding large bills with no dye packs and stating that he had a weapon, though witnesses saw no weapon, Eppel said. The teller gave the man an unknown amount of money and he left, heading north on El Camino Real in a white Ford F150 pickup truck. . . .Shortly after the robbery, an officer spotted a truck and driver who matched the description going north on Merlose Drive, Eppel said. The officer followed the truck into Vista, where he and other officers pulled it over and approached with guns drawn.

Hollingworth later had a “medical problem” and was transported to Tri-Ctiy Medical Center. This is one bank robbery that did not pan out. Nice work by the Police.
