Sunday Morning Lagoon Manhunt

by The Editors on January 26, 2009

One of our Twitter friends alerted us to this early Sunday morning. Apparently, “A man suspected of drunken driving ran into a lagoon, refused to surrender and tried to drown a police dog before he was arrested, police said yesterday.” according to a story in the San Diego Union–Tribune.

Lavar Toosweet McKiernan, 34, was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence, felony evading causing injuries, and attempting to harm a police dog, said Carlsbad police Lt. Marc Reno.. . . The motorist drove away with Alexander in pursuit, Reno said. He rear-ended a vehicle and hit a telephone pole before leaving the car and running into the Buena Vista Lagoon, about half a mile from where the chase began.

Alcohol is such a wonderful thing, huh?

WTF? January 26, 2009 at 12:07 pm

Lavar Toosweet McKiernan? Let me guess, blackman? Although, with a name like Toosweet McKiernan, he could also be a leprechaun.

Suggestion to police: next time SHOOT TO KILL!
