Carlsbad Man Arrested For Enticing A Minor

by The Editors on September 29, 2010

A 50-year-old Carlsbad man was apparently arrested on charges related to his allegedly agreeing to meet a girl, whom he thought was 16, for sex according to a story in the San Diego Union-Tribune.

[The Man] was arrested about 2:45 p.m. Friday by Oceanside police at the Sprinter Station in Oceanside, where he had planned to meet a 16-year-old girl that he had been communicating with via MySpace, said FBI Special Agent in Charge Keith Slotter.

As usual, the girl was not actually 16, but was (according to the North County Times) a “creation of the Oceanside Police Department” using a confidential informant who pretended to be underage in order to catch potential sex criminals. Looks like their plan is working very well.
