No better way to explain how tired everyone is getting of all the campaign sign clutter in Carlsbadistan than this message on Aviara.

Is there a way we could “outlaw” political signs in any public areas? How about political signs only allowed on private property, so you can put it in your own yard if you really feel like it, or you can put it on business properties that want to support you.

I wish and hope that nobody chooses their vote / candidate, based on a stupid, ugly, waste of energy, resources, money, paper, etc. pollution.

The idea shown above from LD is in fact the law in Escondido, as presented by Channel 8 news a few days prior to the election. Channel 8 felt compelled to do a report on the every-other-year blighting of Carlsbad by the people who claim that they respect us. With his one sign, Pedro actually posted more signs than I did, and my name was actually on the ballot! Matt/City Hall’s final insult to the people is contained within their ordinance that prevents everybody else from posting signs in the same public locations, even for just 5 minutes. Garage sale, yard sale, lemonade stand, open house, etc…..they have people on their bloated payroll who actually drive around on weekends and take away the signs from those locations, and immediately discard the signs. Taking selfish advantage of this terrible double-standard is a lousy way to get elected.
