Katz is a planner and the author of <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/redirect.html%3FASIN=0070338892%26tag=sacklunch%26lcode=xm2%26cID=2025%26ccmID=165953%26location=\/o\/ASIN\/0070338892%253FSubscriptionId=02ZH6J1W0649DTNS6002\">The New Urbanism: Toward an Architecture of Community<\/a><\/em><\/strong> . . . Katz said he believes the proposals differ with Bressi Ranch&#8217;s master plan because the Trader Joe&#8217;s and Boys &#38; Girls Club turn their back on <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/ci.carlsbad.ca.us\/planning\/mstplan.html?ciptype=plan&amp;cip=2\" target=\"_blank\">the square<\/a><\/strong>, putting their main entrances on a parking lot on the other side of their buildings.
