The children not only learn how to prep ingredients and clean up, but recently etiquette lessons have been thrown into the mix. \u201cPerhaps the best part of the class is sitting down together and bonding while enjoying what their hard work produced,\u201d observed Club Director <strong>Jim Salvia<\/strong>. \u201cWe limit the number of kids who can attend, so the children and seniors can form an on-going relationship.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Sounds like a match made in the kitchen. For the rest of the story follow the jump.<!--more-->The Way To The Heart Is Through The Stomach<\/p>\n<p>Budding chefs from the Boys &#38; Girls Clubs of Carlsbad have joined forces with cooking enthusiasts from Rancho Carlsbad Estates to whip up some delicious taste treats.<\/p>\n<p>At their recent first Cooking Club meeting, they made pizza from scratch \u2013 even the dough! The cooking was fun, too!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe kids usually make a main dish and a dessert, and they determine what will be created at future lessons,\u201d said Rancho Carlsbad\u2019s Sandra Hunsicker. \u201cCurrently on the list are chowder, chocolate cake, brownies, and burritos!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Boys &#38; Girls Clubs of Carlsbad has played an integral role in the Carlsbad community since 1952, providing programs and services to thousands of young people.
