The streets of the Village of Carlsbadistan<\/em> will be transformed into a spooky haunt on Saturday, October 27, 2012 for the annual Halloween On Elm<\/strong>. The even will feature the following:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Halloween-themed carnival games and jump houses
\n\u2022 Costume contests for people and pets
\n\u2022 Meet Shelob the spider
\n\u2022 Halloween story telling
\n\u2022 Community partner booths with games and activities
\n\u2022 Hands-on art making activities
\n\u2022 Safe costume checks
\n\u2022 Live music and entertainment
\n\u2022 Food available for purchase
\n\u2022 Farmers\u2019 market with Halloween activities
\n\u2022 Haunted house at the Boys and Girls Club
\n\u2022 Haunted path at Kelsall and Associates<\/p>\n

Get ready for a spooktacular time at the city\u2019s third annual Halloween on Elm (did you know Carlsbad Village Drive used to be called Elm Avenue?), Saturday, Oct. 27, from 1 to 6 p.m., in locations throughout the Village, primarily on State Street and Oak Avenue.<\/p>\n

\u201cHalloween on Elm is a great place for people to meet their neighbors and enjoy fun activities for kids of all ages in the heart of the Village,\u201d said Housing & Neighborhood Services Director Debbie Fountain. \u201cFrom carnival games and costume contests to live music and the farmers\u2019 market, there is something for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Activities include:
\n\u2022 Halloween-themed carnival games and jump houses
\n\u2022 Costume contests for people and pets
\n\u2022 Meet Shelob the spider
\n\u2022 Halloween story telling
\n\u2022 Community partner booths with games and activities
\n\u2022 Hands-on art making activities
\n\u2022 Safe costume checks
\n\u2022 Live music and entertainment

The following streets will be closed on Oct. 27 from approximately 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.:
\n\u00b7 Carlsbad Village Drive from State Street to Oak Avenue
\n\u00b7 Oak Avenue from the Santa Fe Railroad to Tyler Street<\/p>\n

General parking and parking for the disabled will be available on the streets surrounding the event.<\/p>\n

The City of Carlsbad is hosting the event in partnership with local businesses and community groups. These partnerships include the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation, Batiquitos Lagoon Foundation, Boys and Girls Clubs, Caliber Entertainment, Carlsbad Educational Foundation, Carlsbad Key Club, Carlsbad Village Association, Carlsbad Country Day School, Discovery Children\u2019s Dentistry, Kahoots Pet Store, Kelsall and Associates, Kidville, Knockout Pizzeria, Sea Life Aquarium, US Bank and Waterworks Aquatics.<\/p>\n
