SAC Cross Country invitational, in Walnut, California, and both finished first in their divisions.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A record 25,000 participants competed over Mt. SAC\u2019s famed three mile cross country course. Included in those 25,000 runners were two sisters representing Aviara Oaks Middle School \u2013 Skyler and Stormy Wallace. Both girls placed first in the two mile event \u2013 Skyler in the 8<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0grade division and Stormy in the 6<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0grade division!\u00a0 Races start every 8 minutes or less, and all results are shared on a live webcast. The course has changed little over the years, making it one of the few courses where different generations can compare times.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Both girls train with the\u00a0Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of Carlsbad at their school. SAC Cross Country Invitational is now in its 66<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0year, and has become the nation\u2019s largest cross country invitational in the nation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A record 25,000 participants competed over Mt. SAC\u2019s famed three mile cross country course. Included in those 25,000 runners were two sisters representing Aviara Oaks Middle School \u2013 Skyler and Stormy Wallace. Cross country is a no-cut sport, which allows all youngsters the opportunity to be a part of the team.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCross country has made the transition from a small elementary to a big middle school easy for Skyler and Stormy,\u201d said Club Athletic Director Nigel Cabral. \u201cThey have met many friends and enjoy showing up to practice and meets ready to compete. Skyler has a simple strategy every time she competes: \u2018Keep up with me if you can.\u2019.
