Over the years he has donated more than $100,000 to the clubs.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The event brings the community together on a summer afternoon to support the Club while enjoying excellent fish tacos. Raising at least $10,000 annually, much of the donation comes straight from Ralph\u2019s coffers \u2013 with more than $100,000 being donated to the Club over the years. . .\u00a0\u201cWhat I enjoy most is taking the money to the Club staff, and going on a shopping spree with them,\u201d said Burnette. \u201cThey make a list, and get items that are needed but not in their budget. This year\u2019s items included a flat screen in the lobby used for announcements, plenty of sports equipment, and even a computer.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>For the official word from the Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of Carlsbad, please follow the jump.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>FISH FRY AT BOAR\u2019S CROSSIN\u2019 HELPS LOCAL KIDS<\/p>\n<p>(Carlsbad, CA \u2013 November 2, 2015) Long-standing Carlsbad business owner Ralph Burnette is all about giving back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome time ago, I was approached by a Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of Carlsbad board member named Richard Macgurn to help out our local kids,\u201d recalls Ralph. \u201cWe came up with a Fish Fry fundraiser, which has taken place on a Friday in August at the Boar\u2019s Crossin\u2019 for the past 11 years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The event brings the community together on a summer afternoon to support the Club while enjoying excellent fish tacos. We are so grateful for his generosity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s cooking team included Brian Joyce, Tom Koutan, Kristin Paddock, Charles Piccirillo, and Rudy Soto. The serving team included Cindy Chandler, Vincentia Faddis, Elizabeth Macgurn, and Karen Soloman.<\/p>\n<p>Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of Carlsbad has played an integral role in the Carlsbad community since 1952, providing programs and services to thousands of young people.
