With more than 30 years of experience in the apparel industry, Carlsbad local John Rich<\/strong> is hyper-aware of what is being worn in his community. And although there were plenty of Carlsbad t-shirts, hats and bags, he was hard pressed to find a pair of Carlsbad socks.<\/p>\n

\u201cI consider socks to be like a t-shirt for your feet,\u201d joked John aka JR. \u201cI also noticed how much the Carlsbad sign resonated with the community. I saw the void, combined the two ideas, threw in a charitable component, and bam! Carlsbad Socks were born. I\u2019m also proud that we\u2019re putting America back to work one sock at a time, as they are manufactured right here in the USA.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The socks have been a hot seller since their July appearance in local Carlsbad shops like Offshore Surf Shop, Carlsbad Pipelines, and the Village 7-Eleven. Two dollars of every pair sold goes to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad, helping fund their impactful after school programming.<\/p>\n

\u201cJR\u2019s ingenuity and passion for his community is remarkable,\u201d said Club CEO Brad Holland. \u201cHe came up with a great idea and just ran with it. It\u2019s truly a win-win, and we are grateful he selected the Club as the beneficiary of his resourcefulness.\u201d<\/p>\n

Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad has played an integral role in the Carlsbad community since 1952, providing programs and services to thousands of young people. The organization is nearly 100% funded by local donors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
