With a couple exceptions, most reside outside <em>The Neighborhood<\/em>. Unfortunately, the construction of the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.carlsbadbeachwalk.com\/\">Carlsbad Beachwalk<\/a><\/strong> (two new &#8220;contemporary designs&#8221; on the corner of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/maps?q=175+Sequoia+Ave,+Carlsbad,+CA+92008,+USA&amp;sa=X&amp;oi=map&amp;ct=title\" target=\"_blank\">Garfield and Sequoia<\/a><\/strong>) doesn&#8217;t change that statement at all. In fact, these two new homes, being built by <strong>Garfield Beachwalk LLC<\/strong> (<strong>Patrick Kellett<\/strong>, <strong>Gregg Dileo<\/strong> &#38; <strong>Dr. Cyril F. Kellett<\/strong>) appear to have been designed by someone reaching far outside their skill set.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/06\/beachwalk.jpg\" onclick=\"window.open('http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/06\/beachwalk.jpg','popup','width=600,height=450,scrollbars=no,resizable=yes,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=yes,left=0,top=0');return false\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/06\/beachwalk-tm.jpg\" height=\"150\" width=\"200\" border=\"1\" align=\"right\" hspace=\"4\" vspace=\"4\" alt=\"Beachwalk\" \/><\/a>With no real balance or congruity of line these two homes appear to have been cobbled together with design elements randomly chosen from several different styles.<\/p>\n<p>While it is good to see anyone with this kind of investment funding moving away from the <em>Crapsman Revival<\/em> homes that clutter Carlsbad, it is sad that this project is so aesthetically off the mark.<\/p>\n<p>These are, however, only drawings. We hope that when the homes are completed the architectural genius will become obvious.
