Back in September, a dinner for ten with <strong>Bill Walton<\/strong> was auctioned off at the <strong>Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of Carlsbad\u2019s annual Gala<\/strong>. It sold for $10,000 \u2013 and was so popular that a second dinner was added and sold immediately.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Local Carlsbadistan and Club alum <strong>Greg Nelson<\/strong> bought the dinner, and invited ten of his CHS and SDSU \u201cbasketball boys\u201d to join him for the special evening. \u201cThe dinner and service was off the charts,\u201d enthused Greg. \u201cBill was entertaining, and we all had a great time talking hoops \u2013 a real night to remember!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>For all the details, please follow the jump.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cBill has his heart in the right place,\u201d said Boys &amp; Girls Club CEO Brad Holland. \u201cHe was so generous in offering up not only one, but two dinners to our highest bidders. The money raised will go a long way in helping Carlsbad\u2019s kids.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vigilucci\u2019s Executive Chefs <strong>Dana Sills<\/strong>, <strong>Victor Ibarra<\/strong>, and their team were thrilled and honored to be the chefs de cuisine, and they laid out an impressive array of culinary delights along with wine from Vigilucci\u2019s cellars. Local florist <strong>Perfect Petals<\/strong> provided beautiful centerpiece arrangements for the evening.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNorth County is a lovely place to call home. It&#8217;s natural to want to give back to a community that has been so kind to us over the years,\u201d said Roberto Vigilucci. \u201cAs we celebrate our 25th anniversary this year, I am also very grateful to our loyal, passionate and talented staff which help us carry out our mission of making beautiful food and providing a great experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of Carlsbad has played an integral role in the Carlsbad community since 1952, providing programs and services to thousands of young people.
