But after walking the jam-packed, crowded streets for about 30 minutes surrounded by a mob of strangers (where do <em>these<\/em> people come from?) we completely lost focus and found ourselves instead struggling against the flow in search of an exit.<\/p>\n<p>Eventually we made it out. Now upon reflection in the peace of our own home,  it seems like each year the event becomes a little less &#8220;faire&#8221; and a little more &#8220;swap meet.&#8221; Sure, there&#8217;s the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/carlsbadkiwanis.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kiwanis Club&#8217;s<\/a><\/strong> pancake breakfast and the <strong>Scripps<\/strong> flu shots, but where were all the pan flautists? Then again, maybe our mood was over-influenced by the time change and the overcast skies.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what the <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.signonsandiego.com\/news\/northcounty\/20071105-9999-1m5faire.html\" target=\"_blank\">San Diego Union Tribune<\/a><\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nctimes.com\/articles\/2007\/11\/05\/news\/coastal\/22_25_2211_4_07.txt\" target=\"_blank\">North County Times<\/a><\/em><\/strong> had to say about the 33rd Annual Faire.
