{"id":1647,"date":"2007-12-07T00:22:54","date_gmt":"2007-12-07T07:22:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/?p=1647"},"modified":"2009-03-05T11:08:26","modified_gmt":"2009-03-05T19:08:26","slug":"the-pita-pit-brings-falafels-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/?p=1647","title":{"rendered":"The Pita Pit Brings Falafels Back"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/pitapit1.jpg\" onclick=\"window.open('http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/pitapit1.jpg','popup','width=1000,height=750,scrollbars=no,resizable=yes,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=yes,left=0,top=0');return false\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/pitapit-tm.jpg\" height=\"322\" width=\"430\" border=\"1\" hspace=\"4\" vspace=\"4\" alt=\"Pitapit\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Carlsbad <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pitapitusa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pita Pit<\/a><\/strong>  opened last Friday, however, it took us a couple days to find it thanks to it being hidden in that vortex known as <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shopvillagefaire.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Village Faire<\/a><\/strong> mall (it faces the tracks between <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lindasgift.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">Linda&#8217;s Gift<\/a><\/strong> and the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/skinsationalspa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Skinsational Spa<\/a><\/strong>). But we&#8217;re glad we found it. We haven&#8217;t had a good, quik falafel in <em>Carlsbadistan<\/em> since The <strong>Greek Corner Cafe<\/strong> pulled up and handed their space over to <strong>Las Olas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Although technically a chain restaurant, there is a lot to like about <em>The Pit.<\/em> Firstly, it has great pitas (stuffed Lebanese style) that are custom built to customer spec each time. It stays open late: until at least midnight every night, Thursday until 2 AM, and Friday and Saturday until 3 AM and it even serves breakfast starting at 8 AM every morning. Most importantly, there is finally an alternative to <strong>Denny&#8217;s<\/strong> or <strong>Alejandros<\/strong> for after-the-bars-shut grinds.
