Then <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.poseidonresources.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Poseidon Resources Inc<\/a><\/strong>. got <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/?p=1507\" target=\"_blank\">Coastal Commission approval<\/a><\/strong> to put in a <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/?s=desalination\" target=\"_blank\">desalination plant<\/a><\/strong> and now <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nrgenergy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">NGR Engery<\/a><\/strong> is hoping to put in <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/?p=1687\" target=\"_blank\">a second power plant<\/a><\/strong> over by Interstate 5 with two smaller stacks and a wall that runs down the side of the freeway, but they wouldn&#8217;t decommission the old plant for &#8220;five or six years&#8221; according to a story in the <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.signonsandiego.com\/news\/northcounty\/20071216-9999-1mc16power.html\" target=\"_blank\">San Diego Union-Tribune<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.energy.ca.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">California Energy Commission<\/a><\/strong>, which decides on major power plants in the state, will hold an informational tour of the site tomorrow [Monday December 17, 2007 at 3:15 PM] followed by a <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.energy.ca.gov\/cgi-pl\/cal_make.pl?p1=XXX\" target=\"_blank\">public hearing<\/a><\/strong> [at 5 PM at the City of Carlsbad &#8211; Faraday Center, Conference Room 173B, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?q=1635+Faraday+Ave,+Carlsbad,+CA+92008,+USA&amp;sa=X&amp;oi=map&amp;ct=title\" target=\"_blank\">1635 Faraday Avenue<\/a><\/strong>]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>At this point it&#8217;s like why not just throw in a nuclear reactor and a ship dismantling plant while we&#8217;re at it? We&#8217;re sure it would mean increased revenue for the city.
