She was sippin’ water and suckin’ throat lozenges most of the set, but that didn’t keep blues diva Javina Magness<\/a><\/strong> and her band from rocking the crowd all the way to the outfield at Stagecoach Park last night, for concert two of Carlsbad’s TGIF Jazz in The Park 2008<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We didn’t catch the first bit of Magness’ show because, as usual when we venture that far into Carlsbad’s Eastern Front, we got lost. From the looks on the faces of the packed baseball field everyone was enjoying Javina’s efforts. <\/p>\n

The new baseball diamond venue may lack a little of the flavor of the old location, but it sure makes it easy for all the picnickers. And that new jumbo-sized dance floor seemed to be extremely popular.<\/p>\n
