And at 28th Annual <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/beachbocce.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vigilucci&#8217;s Bocce Ball World Championships<\/a><\/strong> on Saturday July 12, 2008 at Del Mar&#8217;s <strong>Dog Beach<\/strong> that exactly what 300 people are going to do. <\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s the <em>Carlsbadistan<\/em> hook? This year the money being raised at the event is going to the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bgccarlsbad.org\/home\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Carlsbad Boys &#38; Girls Club<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s such an awesome event, North County&#8217;s cleaner answer to the Over-the-Line tournament in San Diego,&#8221; said <strong>Pat Maldi<\/strong>, marketing director for the Boys &#38; Girls Clubs of Carlsbad. &#8220;It&#8217;s a party on the beach &#8212;- bocce ball with sand, food and fun.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The event is sold out, but the next best thing to playing with your balls is watching someone else play with theirs. Play begins at 8:15 AM and complimentary parking (and a Shuttle) is available at the Del Mar Racetrack.
