While Vigiluccis Seafood & Steakhouse<\/a><\/strong> may be a clear favorite for many with its coastal location, our vote goes to the La Costa Resort & Spa’s Blue Fire Grill<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The spacious outdoor patio faces La Costa’s extensive main courtyard, a bar and two large interior dining rooms give Blue Fire Grill a modern and quintessential California feel. The outdoor patio, complete with the rustic Blue Fire pits, is often host to world music and live entertainment, but if you are interested in a festive meal it’s the choice place to sit and enjoy one of the resturant’s signature cocktails. Catch it on a quiet evening, however, and it’s the site of a beautiful romantic dinner under the stars. Inside, diners are wowed under Timber ceilings while facing a handblown glass fireplace wall.<\/p>\n

\nThe menu also takes its cue from the native state with California Coastal Cuisine featured extensively— fresh seafood, pasta, seasonal vegtables, as well as an array of meat dishes are hand picked and designed by Chef de Cuisine Scott Diehl<\/strong>. An extensive wine list designed to compliment the dishes with key selections from the Napa and Sonoma valleys rounds out the dining experience.<\/p>\n

\"Bluefire<\/a>The night we dined we tried a Moroccan Tangine of chicken prepared with a golden raisin and mint couscous salad, grilled white peaches,marinated olives, cinnamon infused chicken jus—amazing. For dessert do not miss the local strawberries marinated in aged balsamic, strawberry syrup, cracked black pepper, almond cookie, with a scoop of Tahitian vanilla gelato. The black pepper nearly scared us off, but we’re glad we decided to stick to our guns on this one.<\/p>\n

Look for special events on the resturant’s web site (www.dinebluefire.com<\/a><\/strong>) throughout the year as well as the chef’s two-course $32 special menu every Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n
