A short time later, he heard another loud pop, and the canoe started taking on water, he said. . . . By then he was about three to four miles offshore. He tried to flag down some passing boats, but they didn&#8217;t see him, Talauega said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>After three hours in the water Talauega was finally spotted by a lobster fisherman and pulled to safety.
