So far 112 people have applied to take Chief <strong>Thomas Zoll&#8217;s<\/strong> job, according to a story in the <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nctimes.com\/news\/local\/carlsbad\/article_e44eb791-d4d7-53e5-884e-e4ef5c3997cd.html\" target=\"_blank\">North County Times<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Carlsbad spokeswoman <strong>Kristina Ray<\/strong> said the city received applications from internal, regional and national candidates. The last time the city advertised the same position in 2003, 66 people applied, Ray said. . . &#8220;We consider this a really good response,&#8221; she said. . . The police chief will make $124,300 to $180,300 a year, according to the city&#8217;s job announcement. The department has 115 sworn officers and 47 civilians.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Crazy thing is, that&#8217;s really not enough pay for the responsibilities.
