Taylormade: The Battle Royale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to a story in the <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.signonsandiego.com\/news\/business\/20070810-9999-1b10callaway.html\" target=\"_blank\">San Diego Union Tribune<\/a><\/em><\/strong> <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.callawaygolf.com\/en.html\" target=\"_blank\">Callaway<\/a><\/strong> has filed lawsuits in federal court in Texas and San Diego claiming that &#8220;<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.taylormadegolf.com\/home.asp\" target=\"_blank\">TaylorMade<\/a><\/strong>, a division of Adidas also based in Carlsbad, was violating two golf ball patents and one dealing with an iron club.&#8221; Callaway declined to comment, however, Taylormade had no problem.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Scott Leightman<\/strong>, a spokesman for TaylorMade, said several of Callaway&#8217;s current drivers, a key market for each company, were infringing on his company&#8217;s patents. &#8220;There is more to the dispute than their allegations, and we&#8217;ll take appropriate measures to protect our patented technologies,&#8221; he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As we&#8217;ve learned from the tech industry: lawsuits are simply forms of negotiation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>[Link: <\/strong><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.signonsandiego.com\/news\/business\/20070810-9999-1b10callaway.html\" target=\"_blank\">San Diego Union Tribune<\/a><\/strong><strong>]<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to a story in the San Diego Union Tribune Callaway has filed lawsuits in federal court in Texas and San Diego claiming that &#8220;TaylorMade, a division of Adidas also based in Carlsbad, was violating two golf ball patents and one dealing with an iron club.&#8221; Callaway declined to comment, however, Taylormade had no problem.
