[<\/strong>Click HERE for all the photos<\/a><\/strong>] <\/strong>This year the Carlsbad Education Foundation’s<\/a><\/strong> 11th Annual <\/strong>Taste of Carlsbad<\/a><\/strong> joined up with Art Splash<\/a><\/strong> for a combined event that made us think was a perfect Saturday afternoon excursion in Carlsbadistan<\/em>. And from the packed isles and lines at the booths (especially Darios<\/strong>) we don’t think we were alone.<\/p>\n

Taste of Carlsbad features exemplary cuisine from twenty Carlsbad restaurants. One $20 donation to the CEF buys visitors a card good for samples at 15 of the restaurants. Before you jump into the photos here were our favorites: El Puerto Mexican Food<\/strong> (next to the Golden Tee<\/strong> in the Albertson’s<\/strong> parking lot), The El Camino Real Grille<\/strong> (by the people who created Savory<\/strong>), Knock Out Pizza<\/strong> (in the Village), Lola’s<\/strong>, and the Tri-City Medical Center’s Cafeteria<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nFrom the stage to the North it was the Karl Strauss<\/a><\/strong> Beer Gardens and then some of the best food in Carlsbad.<\/p>\n

\nDiane Hendricks<\/strong>, CEF <\/strong>President Julie Baker<\/strong>, and Debbie Peacock<\/strong> checking people in and taking money: because Kids Are Worth A Million.<\/p>\n

\nVolunteer Sarah Floyd<\/strong> and El Puerto’s<\/strong> Jessica<\/strong> and Catalina<\/strong>. Amazing green salsa. Seriously.<\/p>\n

\nBrittani<\/strong>, Michelle<\/strong>, and Chef Pascal Vignau<\/strong>. The next time we want a burger we’re going to the El Camino Real Grille<\/strong>. (Thanks for opening a place in Carlsbad. . . that drive to Savory in Encinitas is just too much for us.)<\/p>\n

\nKnock Out Pizza<\/strong> has a posse: Tyler Healey<\/strong> and David Hart<\/strong>, thanks for the hook up. Appreciated it.<\/p>\n

\nWe didn’t quite make it in under this gate, however, the people behind the wall seemed to be enjoying themselves immensely.<\/p>\n

\nCarlsbad High School TV<\/strong> was getting it all down on tape: Ryan Haarer<\/strong>, Lauren Titus<\/strong>, and Gia Sachs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nPeople are always surprised to hear it, but the food at Tri-City Medical Center<\/strong> is really good. Cafeteria Manager Jeff Pigza<\/strong> serving it up with Ana<\/strong> and Cathy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nThe US Marine Corp Band even cruised through while we were chomping down a cheese enchilada from Lola’s.<\/p>\n
