Grammy award winner Kamau Kenyatta<\/strong> and his all-star sextet present the U.S. premiere of the original music from Don\u2019t Forget Your Music<\/strong><\/em>, a 2016 documentary film that tracks the story of the jazz star and early Kenyatta prot\u00e9g\u00e9, Gregory Porter, at Carlsbad’s Museum of Making Music on Saturday evening, October 1, 2016.<\/p>\n

Composed by Kenyatta (who also produced Porter\u2019s GRAMMY-winning album Liquid Spirit), the film’s soundtrack takes listeners on a breathtaking journey through the inspirational story of the next generation of American jazz. . .\u00a0Joining him on stage will be Daneen Wilburn<\/strong> (voice), Curtis Taylor<\/strong> (trumpet), Brian Clancy<\/strong> (tenor sax), Mackenzie Leighton<\/strong> (bass), Richard Sellers<\/strong> (drums) and David Casta\u00f1eda<\/strong> (percussion).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
