Students at Carlsbad’s St. Patrick Catholic School<\/strong> just rounded up more than 50,000 food items during their annual food drive to benefit Got Your Back<\/strong><\/a> and Interfaith Community Services<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt wasn\u2019t that long ago when St. Pat\u2019s Angels was just an idea,\u201d stated Denise Nelson, St. Patrick Catholic School Principal. \u201cEach year the Angel\u2019s program grows and our students collect more and more food. I couldn\u2019t be more proud of the efforts of our entire school community.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Nice work, Angels! For the official word from St. Pat’s, please follow the jump.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n St. Pat\u2019s Angels 6th Annual Food Drive<\/p>\n Over 50,000 food items collected!<\/p>\n Carlsbad, CA \u2013Today, the St. Patrick Catholic School Angel\u2019s program completed their annual food drive. They far exceeded their goal of 20,000 food items bringing in 50,828 goods. The eighth grade class brought in the most food colleting 17,358 items.<\/p>\n \u201cIt wasn\u2019t that long ago when St. Pat\u2019s Angels was just an idea,\u201d stated Denise Nelson, St. Patrick Catholic School Principal. \u201cEach year the Angel\u2019s program grows and our students collect more and more food. I couldn\u2019t be more proud of the efforts of our entire school community.\u201d<\/p>\n The food collected benefits two local organizations including, Got Your Back and Interfaith Community Services.<\/p>\n Got Your Back gives backpacks with kid friendly food to kids who otherwise would only have a school lunch to eat.<\/p>\n Interfaith Community Services gives out 30,000 pounds of food to the poor every day in North County.<\/p>\n The St. Pat\u2019s Angels program is always open to suggestions from the community on ways to give.
