{"id":2218,"date":"2008-03-31T11:31:57","date_gmt":"2008-03-31T18:31:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/?p=2218"},"modified":"2008-03-31T11:32:07","modified_gmt":"2008-03-31T18:32:07","slug":"ummel-vs-little-real-estate-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/?p=2218","title":{"rendered":"Ummel vs. LIttle Real Estate Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On January 23, 2008 we <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/?p=1904\" target=\"_blank\">told you the story<\/a><\/strong> of how home-owner <strong>Marty Ummel<\/strong>, 60, was suing her Realtor <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mikelittle.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mike Little<\/a><\/strong> because he &#8220;hid the information that similar homes in the neighborhood were selling for less because he feared she would back out and he would lose his $30,000 commission.&#8221; Eventually, Ummel and her husband even appeared on <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/?p=1913\" target=\"_blank\">NBC&#8217;s Today Show<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the update:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Tomorrow, Vernon and Marty Ummel, who purchased a $1.2 million home in Carlsbad three years ago, will try to convince a jury that their real estate agent defrauded them when he failed to inform them that similar houses on the same block were selling for more than $100,000 less than what the Ummels had paid. . . . Jury selection is expected to begin tomorrow morning in the Vista courtroom of Superior Court Judge Lisa Guy-Schall.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This should be interesting.
