We could not continue to justify paying $140 a month for a system that never worked properly (OnDemand especially).<\/p>\n<p>No sooner did we quit cable than we started hearing that <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/uverse1.att.com\/un\/launchAMSS.do\" target=\"_blank\">AT&#38;T<\/a><\/strong> was sending people door-to-door in <em>Carlsbadistan<\/em> selling their new &#8220;100% digitally delivered television,&#8221; Internet, and phone service called <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/uverse1.att.com\/un\/launchAMSS.do\" target=\"_blank\">U-verse<\/a><\/strong>. We&#8217;ve <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/?p=289\" target=\"_blank\">written about U-verse<\/a><\/strong> before and the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/?p=289\" target=\"_blank\">reviews<\/a><\/strong> have not been good.<\/p>\n<p>Today we got the following from a reader who switched to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/uverse1.att.com\/un\/launchAMSS.do\" target=\"_blank\">AT&#38;T&#8217;s U-verse<\/a><\/strong> for about a week, but is now going back to cable:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;AT&#38;T sucks! Hard selling (contracted sales force) Girls roaming the neighborhoods selling the savings of AT&#38;T. . . My whole bundle of services was down for 3 days+ (including the phone). All the techs are nice but it gets down to a unreliable service. So now we are on the Disconnect AT&#38;T program and going back to Time Warner.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve signed up for AT&#38;T&#8217;s U-verse service, please let us know how it&#8217;s going. We&#8217;re personally going to just stick with Internet and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&amp;location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FApple-TV-160GB-Hard-Drive%2Fdp%2FB000RQHAUA%3Fie%3DUTF8%26s%3Delectronics%26qid%3D1214344662%26sr%3D8-1&amp;tag=sacklunch&amp;linkCode=ur2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325\" target=\"_blank\">Apple TV<\/a><\/strong>, but there may be others who would like to know what they&#8217;re getting into before then go through all the hassles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We finally pulled the plug on Time Warner Cable.
