We don&#8217;t like the idea, but it appears that <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.poseidonresources.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Poseidon Resources<\/a><\/strong> has sung and danced for the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.coastal.ca.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">California Coastal Commission<\/a><\/strong> long enough to get the board&#8217;s approval for their proposed $300-million <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/?s=%22desalination+plant%22\" target=\"_blank\">desalination plant<\/a><\/strong> in <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/?p=1704\" target=\"_blank\">Carlsbadistan&#8217;s lagoon<\/a><\/em><\/strong>. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The commission <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/?p=1507\" target=\"_blank\">tentatively approved the project in November<\/a><\/strong> but with 22 conditions involving finding ways to minimize damage to fish and plants and to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases emitted by the salt-water-to-fresh process. A majority of commissioners agreed, in a series of votes, that the company has satisfied the conditions. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Right.
