We don&#8217;t hate them as much as the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/?p=833\" target=\"_blank\">carlsGOOD? artists<\/a><\/strong>, but let&#8217;s just say we often like things left they way they are. That&#8217;s why we were a little bummed to see a new sign up on the east side of Garfield St. just north of Juniper Ave.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The proposed SDP\/CD&#8221; is for &#8220;the demolition of a single-family residence and to develop the site with 3 apartment units with underground garage and associated landscaping. Project Applicant: Blue Motif Architecture.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/bluemotif-ap.jpg\" onclick=\"window.open('http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/bluemotif-ap.jpg','popup','width=1000,height=654,scrollbars=no,resizable=yes,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=yes,left=0,top=0');return false\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/bluemotif-ap-tm.jpg\" height=\"130\" width=\"200\" border=\"1\" align=\"right\" hspace=\"4\" vspace=\"4\" alt=\"Bluemotif Ap\" \/><\/a>It wasn&#8217;t until we checked out <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bluemotif.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">Blue Motif Architecture<\/a><\/strong> that we began to breathe a little easier. The company has designed and developed some quality, modern, ecologically sensitive, and architecturally significant buildings in San Diego recently. The <strong>Sombrilla Condominiums<\/strong> in Oceanside (if only they were in a better neighborhood) and several San Diego <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/organictogo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Organic To Go<\/a><\/strong> locations are just a few of them. The 3-unit condo complex shown above is slated for future construction in Oceanside, but it shows the kind of buildings they specialize in.<\/p>\n<p>Blue Motif&#8217;s motto is: &#8220;We believe that every project presents a new opportunity to create space to be remembered.&#8221; And that makes us feel much better about what they&#8217;re planning to build in <em>Carlsbadistan<\/em>. We just hope they&#8217;re not dissuaded by all the modern beach projects that sit <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/?p=58\" target=\"_blank\">unsold<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.carlsbadistan.com\/?p=129\" target=\"_blank\">empty<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;re not the biggest fans of the yellow City of Carlsbad &#8220;Notice of Project Application&#8221; signs.
