The event, which is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature &#8220;vendors, food and entertainment for the whole family.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>With 215,847 takeoffs and landings in 2007 by private planes, corporate jets and commuter airline flights, McClellan-Palomar is one of the busiest single-runway airports in the country. There are 344 aircraft based at the airport, 83 of which are jets or jet props. . . \u201cBetween public and private investment, more than $100 million has been put into McClellan-Palomar Airport over the last five years,\u201d said Airport Manager <strong>Willie Vasquez<\/strong>. \u201cWe\u2019re having this event because we want the public to come and see what has been done.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Orion Aviation will offer 30-minute Discovery Flights of the coast and scenic area surrounding the airport in a Cessna 172 with a qualified flight instructor for $25 per person.
