The north-bound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway came to a near standstill this evening (April 17, 2008) at approximately 6:30 PM after a two-car collision at the corner of Carlsbad Boulevard [aka PCH] and Juniper Avenue.

Apparently, the driver of a white Ford Ranger truck turned left from the south-bound turn lane directly into the front left quarter panel of a while Chevrolet Impala as it travelled north on Carlsbad Boulevard.

“I guess the driver of the truck just thought she could make it,” said one witness. “I was over on the seawall standing by my truck and heard the whole thing. You can’t believe how loud it was.”

Though the Impala’s driver-side airbag deployed (breaking the car’s front windshield) there were no injuries in either car.
