Sadness of the city, this town has origins for skateboarding and not just sidewalk surfers from the days of ol’ but actual sport and is the home of many pros. Now as I skate to Cessy’s from my place two blocks away, I get corralled by three of Carlsbad’s fattest…..FINEST and given a a $300 ticket for skateboarding. Not for almost hitting someone or cutting off cars or grinding ledges, for skating home with a burrito in hand from a place downtown that I patron. For the last two years I have patroned over 20 establishments downtown always skating to them as a mode of transportation. Could I have gotten a warning…YES, I’m old enough to rent a car but the swine that collared me had an agenda even though the arresting faticcer stated “Here is the ticket, here is a map where you cannot skateboard (ALL OF DOWNTOWN) you can go in and talk to the judge and he should throw it out if you plead your case.” THEN WHY FUCKING GIVE ME A TICKET DBAG, JUST GIVE ME A WARNING.
Why so angry, let me tell you. The ticket is considered a traffic citation which calls for 1 trip to the courthouse in VISTA for arraignment, a 3 hour wait then another trip a month later for the actual court date another 3 hours. All for skateboarding for a burrito.
WHERE ARE THE SIGNS that say NO SKATEBOARDING. Why make a law then not advise the people that live in the community. This town is in a SAD STATE because the fools that run it are SAD.
I will be on the first thing smoking out of this god awful excuse for a beach city along with all the weekly money I spend on the downtown vendors. Way to set up a REDEVELOPMENT PLAN assholes when you drive away all of the locals.
And finally a big FUCK YOU to issuing and arresting officer K. Galanos. You are truly a man amongst men and your family should be proud of your ticket issuing accomplishment. Hopefully later in your life you will be able to give out tickets to people who look at you wrong or aren’t wearing sleeves on their shirts. Its bound to happen with the jackasses running this city.
