Italian violin wizard Luca Ciarla owns the stage with his fiddle and a few toy instruments. And he’ll be performing this Friday (June 3, 2016) at Carlsbad’s own Museum of Making Music.
Using a looper, he performs all the parts live using the violin to play guitar, cello and percussion parts. In this imaginative landscape Luca sings, whistles, and plays while the music evolves into a dazzling solo string band! The program includes unusual arrangements of Italian folk tunes, music from the Mediterranean and original compositions. . . A native of Termoli, Italy, Luca received his degree in violin performance in 1993 and received his Master’s at Indiana University while studying jazz with David Baker. He completed a doctorate in musical arts at the University of Arizona.
The concert begins at 7:00 PM and tickets are $20 for premium and $15 for general seating. The Museum of Making Music is located at 5790 Armada Drive in Carlsbad, California. For more information and to purchase tickets, please click the link.
