We had to wait all summer long (until the last event of the 2017 TGIF Concerts In The Parks series) but we’ll finally get some jazz in a Carlsbad park on August 18, 2017 as the JazzKatz Orchestra with Whitney Shay cools down Alga Norte Community Park.
Directed by Chaz Cabrera and Whitney Shay, the JazzKatz members are some of the finest and most experienced jazz musicians hand-picked in the San Diego area. The JazzKatz exhibit a passion for modern to classic jazz and emulate the swing sounds of big band music, helping to create a distinctive style that is their own, and never fails to impress.
As always, the music begins at 6 PM. Alga Norte Community park is located at 6565 Alicante Road in Carlsbad, California. Shuttle service operates between 4:30 to 9 p.m. from Ocean Collection, 2510 Gateway Road in Carlsbad.
