Carlsbad Boys & Girls Clubs Get New CEO

Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad is delighted to announce the appointment of Evan Perkins as its new CEO effective immediately.

Evan was hired in 2012 as a Youth Development Professional. He has held various roles in his eight years of service including Program Director, Clubhouse Director, and most recently Director of Operations. He is taking over from Brad Holland, who led the nonprofit with distinction for ten years.

“Evan is a strong, team-focused leader and is passionate about providing safe and meaningful programs for the youth of our community,” Board President Sharone Story said “He has been instrumental in leading and managing the daily operations of our clubs while navigating multiple COVID-19 impacts. We are thrilled to promote Evan to the CEO role.”

ANNOUNCES EVAN PERKINS AS NEW CEO

(Carlsbad, CA – November 13, 2020) Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad is delighted to announce the appointment of Evan Perkins as its new CEO effective immediately.

Evan was hired in 2012 as a Youth Development Professional. He has held various roles in his eight years of service including Program Director, Clubhouse Director, and most recently Director of Operations. He is taking over from Brad Holland, who led the nonprofit with distinction for ten years.

Announcing Evan’s appointment, Board President Sharone Story said, “Evan is a strong, team-focused leader and is passionate about providing safe and meaningful programs for the youth of our community. He has been instrumental in leading and managing the daily operations of our clubs while navigating multiple COVID-19 impacts. We are thrilled to promote Evan to the CEO role.”

Evan comes from a background of serving children. Prior to his tenure at the Boys & Girls Club, he worked for the City of Escondido’s Recreation Department, managing their after school programs and summer camps.

Reflecting on his appointment and goals for the organization, Evan said “I couldn’t be more humbled and excited about this opportunity. I plan to continue to deliver high impact curriculum for Carlsbad’s kids, with an emphasis on FUN. We are all inclusive, and I want to be sure no family is turned away from any program due to inability to pay. I’m looking forward to developing our staff, and working with our board to ensure the long term sustainability of our organization.”

Evan, a twin, grew up in Escondido. He currently lives in San Marcos with his wife, Alejandra (Alex) and two beautiful daughters, Sofia (5) and Mila (2).

Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad has played an integral role in the Carlsbad community since 1952, providing programs and services to thousands of young people.
