Indy Fans Invade Legoland This Saturday

by The Editors on March 26, 2008

IndyfansThis Saturday at Legoland a 20,000 brick life-size model of Indiana Jones will be unveiled and on display for everyone to see on their way into the park. But, that’s not all. We’re not sure what it means, but here are the details:

Meet true fans of the Indiana Jones movie franchise as they dress like their favorite movie characters. They will also hand out IndyFans posters, give bull whip demonstrations, ask trivia questions, and award some great prizes including tickets to see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on opening night, and return tickets to Legoland California.

We’re guessing this is a movie promotion tied into the all-new Land of Adventure, but it sounds fun nonetheless.

Many successful film franchises have been driven by their strong fan base. “Star Wars” fans enjoy dressing as Jedi Knights and storm troopers, “Star Trek” fans beam down to conventions all over the world, some even speaking their native Klingon language. It’s not too often you see a guy carrying a bullwhip, but they are out there!

LEGOLAND California’s own Johnny Thunder, the hero of the LEGO Adventurers line, welcomes all IndyFans into Land of Adventure which just opened March 10 featuring four new attractions including the Park’s first-ever dark ride, Lost Kingdom Adventure. Based in 1920s Egypt, Lost Kingdom Adventure takes guests on an expedition through ancient temple ruins using laser blasters to aim at targets and uncover hidden treasure.

Also, be a part of history as camera crews from Red Dot Film Studios will be at the family theme park interviewing guests and capturing exciting stories for “IndyFans and the Quest for Fortune and Glory,” a documentary focusing on Indiana Jones fans. The documentary premieres April 27, 2008 at the Newport Beach Film Festival.

LEGOLAND California is giving more than 50 Wishland families complimentary tickets to enjoy IndyFans day. Wishland provides assistance and cherished moments to seriously ill children and their families.
