Rockin’ The Carlsbadistan

by The Editors on July 29, 2008

These are the kinds of stories everyone already knows about because we all felt it (well most of us), but we’ve got to log it anyway. The 5.8 Chino earthquake was felt up and down the coast this morning around 11:40 AM. “It rocked and rolled for a while,” one resident told us. “But nothing fell or broke in our house. It was more of a rattle.”

Up at Callaway Golf employees said they got a serious rocking according to a story in the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Barb West . . . said, “It rocked our world.” . . . She said the temblor wasn’t severe enough to topple desktop objects, but “in our headquarters building where I’m located, we could feel it shake under our desks.”

We noticed there were earthquakes in the South Pacific and Japan in the last 24 hours and we’re kind of hoping that the ring of fire isn’t getting ready to let something serious loose.
