The Force Is With Legoland This Weekend

It’s all Star Wars at Legoland on Saturday September 13 -14, 2008 as the 501st Legion of Rebel Forces storms Legoland. While normally we wouldn’t recommend encouraging your children to hang out with grown men dressed like Storm Troopers and Wookies, we’re pretty sure this will be a fun day at the park for all Star Wars fans.

Legoland guests need not travel to a galaxy far, far away to take part in out-of-this-world fun activities like the Droid Hunt, video game battles, trivia competitions and Clone Trooper scavenger hunts. Whether they favor the Dark Side or support Luke Skywalker’s cause, guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite Star Wars characters and participate in daily costume contests for a chance to win prizes valued at more than $500!

DETAILS: LEGOLAND California features intergalactic excitement as the interactive theme park welcomes Darth Vader and the 501st Legion of Rebel Forces to LEGO Star Wars Days! Fans can participate in meet-and-greets and pose for photos with costumed characters from the famous film series, as well as dress up as their favorite Star Wars personalities for the opportunity to win great prizes during daily costume contests.

In the popular Droid Hunt game, guests of all ages will receive “droid badges” (while supplies last) if they stop by a specially marked table at LEGO Show Place Plaza and learn a special droid quote from a Star Wars film. Throughout both days, guests wearing droid badges are “hunted” within the Park by members of the 501st Legion. Once droids are “captured,” they must recite the quote for a ticket to a special raffle taking place daily at 3 p.m. at The Beginning.

Park guests also scour Miniland U.S.A. in a sci-fi scavenger hunt for Clone Trooper mini-figures attempting to take over the area. Those who locate the correct number of figures, solve the accompanying word scramble and turn in their event guides at LEGO Show Place Plaza will be entered into a raffle to win an exclusive Comic-Con 2008 LEGO Droid set and a family four-pack of LEGOLAND California tickets. One winner will be chosen at the end of each day at LEGO Show Place Plaza (winners need not be present).
