Sing With Alice Parker Tonight

by The Editors on September 18, 2008

ApCarlsbadistan’s St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church is hosting the La Jolla Symphony and Chorus’s presentation of The Alice Parker Festival tonight (September 18, 3008), and they’re calling it a “once in a lifetime choral event.” Seeing as we haven’t had many “choral events” in our lifetime, that statement is most likely true.

“Alice has been one of the most beloved and revered figures in choral music for half a century,” continues Chase. “We are very pleased to present this Festival, which I recommend to anybody, at any level, who loves vocal music. I guarantee it will be a musical experience like none other, and choir singers and audience alike will feel musically gratified.”

So, if you appreciate group singing of a spiritual bent, this might be a perfect evening. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for “youngsters 18 and under.”
