BJ’s Restaurant Brewhouse Comes To Carlsbad

by The Editors on December 11, 2008

BjsWe were pretty hyped when we heard that P.F. Chang’s China Bistro was coming to the new Paseo Carlsbad “retail center” across the street from the Carlsbad Premium Outlets, but now we hear that another restaurant has signed a lease (20 years at $6.98 million): BJ’s Restaurant Brewhouse. Really?

Does Carlsbad really need a loud, chain restaurant that serves beer, pizza, and bar food? Aren’t Pizza Port, Karl Strauss, and that place in the Costco parking lot enough? Hopefully, BJ’s is at the opposite end of the mall from P.F. Chang’s.

BJ’s is delicious! Although Port brewing has them beat on the beer front.

That’s absolutely ridiculous! P.F. Chang’s is just as much a chain, and BJ’s has some awesome food. Carlsbad is lucky to have it as a “loud, chain restaurant,” a list which also includes Fridays, and so many other places. Some of us are excited about it, so quit being a whiner because you don’t have to go if you don’t want to!

PS – I love that BJ’s and P.F. Chang’s are right next to each other! haha

You said it Kristin!! I’ve never heard any complaints about Bj’s. We’re STOKED that we have a new one close by!! I was there opening day and I was very impressed. Although we had to wait 45 minutes for a table it was so worth it. Besides-who could say no to a BJ!
