The Carlsbad Music Festival is looking for a few musicians shoe would like to participate in the festival’s Village Music Walk on the evening of Friday, June 21, 2013.
The June Village Music Walk is a FREE community event that will feature a full evening of 30+ performances of adventurous music of all kinds in intimate venues around Carlsbad Village. The Village Music Walk is a regular and popular feature of the September Carlsbad Music Festival, and this year we are additionally presenting it as a standalone event in June. Venues range from the Foundry at New Village Arts to Spin Records to Magee Park to the old train station. With over 30 concerts to choose from over the evening, a Music Walk attendee can choose their own pathway through the music and the Village.

Carlsbad Music Festival Call for Artists for June 21st Village Music Walk.
(Carlsbad, CA, May 3, 2013) In celebration of its 10th Anniversary season, the Carlsbad Music Festival is presenting a Village Music Walk on the evening of Friday, June 21st, 2013. The Festival is currently holding an open call for musicians.
The June Village Music Walk is a FREE community event that will feature a full evening of 30+ performances of adventurous music of all kinds in intimate venues around Carlsbad Village. The Village Music Walk is a regular and popular feature of the September Carlsbad Music Festival, and this year we are additionally presenting it as a standalone event in June. Venues range from the Foundry at New Village Arts to Spin Records to Magee Park to the old train station. With over 30 concerts to choose from over the evening, a Music Walk attendee can choose their own pathway through the music and the Village.
This year, to better represent the creativity of local musicians, the Festival is hosting an open call for performers for a limited number of spots.
. Musicians already scheduled to perform include Mattson 2, MandoBasso, Trouble in the Wind, Giri Nata Children’s Balinese Gamelan
(from the Center for World Music), and many more.
The significance of the June 21st Music Walk is that it will be held on the summer solstice, a day when world-wide music celebrations take place in cities such as Paris, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. The Carlsbad Music Festival is excited to join in the worldwide celebration of the gift of music.
Additionally, our full Festival will take place on September 20-22, 2013. The Festival will be announcing artists and more information shortly.
