Neighbors Come To Blows Over Prop 8

by The Editors on November 4, 2008

A 76-year-old man and his 77-year-old wife were beaten by a 53-year-old neighbor last night in a fight that started over a Prop 8 election signage, according to a story in the San Diego Union Tribune.

The resident of Sandcastle Drive was jailed on suspicion of elder abuse and battery causing great bodily injury, police Lt. Neil Gallucci said.

The dispute allegedly began when the neighbor placed a No on 8 sign in front a Yes on 8 sign the couple had placed on their lawn. The couple confronted the neighbor and that’s when the younger man reportedly struck the other couple in the “face and head.”

How open minded of the “gay rights” advocate. What a scumbag. Beating up old people on their own property. Typical leftist turd.

Reasons to ban the plastic campaign signs (no particular order)
1. they are ugly
2. they don’t say much or contribute any information
3. they’re environmentally-unfriendly, coroplast is not recycled
4. they’re expensive: that drives up campaign spending
5. they contribute to polarization of issues: simplification rather than discussion
6. they label people and even divide people into warring camps
7. they are often provided by special interest groups, some are not local
8. they contribute to group demonstrations near traffic
9. they contribute to confrontations
10. they’re handy weapons during demonstrations & confrontations
Other cities have banned them successfully. Let’s push the City to ban the stupid things from Carlsbad before the 2010 elections!

Some of the Prop 8 sign assaults have been Yes-on-8 people attacking No-on-8 people.

“worried” – so I guess it’s OK for the NO guy to beat up the old YES guy..? One criminal act certainly does not excuse the other. The NO guy belongs in jail. Anyone that beats up an old man should be put away without regard to politics.

This (news?) report is full of lies and meant to appeal to scandal mongers who subscribe to supermarket tabloids. I am a 53 year old diabetic who was attacked by my neighbors after they put a sign on MY property. The D.A. noted tht I had injuries to my face and had my glasses knocked off, but it’s not mentioned here or in the T.V. news reports that are only looking for ratings. The reason why the assault case was subsequently dropped and lowered to “disturbing the peace” was that there was no viable case for assault. All because I was against a discriminatory ballot measure. San Diego needs to wake up because it’s 30 years behind the times! Larry Pizzicara
