If you’re at work right now (or, God help you, away from Carlsbadistan), this is what you’re missing at 10:58 AM. Oddly, there are no campaign signs on the sand, yet.

Carlsbadistan.com stickers are perfect for placing almost anywhere including, but not limited to: your computer, skateboard, bike, car, refrigerator, office cubicle, door, desk, binder, tool box, cat, scooter, surfboard, or locker.
Each sticker is three inches in diameter (there are three in the image above) and features our lovely Encina Power Station, the seawall along with a lifeguard tower. If you look closely, you’ll see a lifeguard Jeep in the Tamarack parking lot.
To get some FREE stickers just click here (Theeditors@carlsbadistan.com) and email us your mailing address and we’ll send you an envelope full of stickers (while supplies last).

If you look very closely at this photo from last Sunday’s Chargers game, just above the horns being thrown in the back row, you can see a Carlsbadistan sticker up on the window. Granted, there are much more interesting things to look at, but we wanted to make sure you saw the sticker. . . thanks, Chris.
Hard to believe that the Bolts could lose with this kind of Carlbadistan support.

We would like to apologize for our site being down for the past two days. Our hosting service, MediaTemple.net apparently had some growing pains and it looks like they had to rebuild every site on their servers by hand (that’s the only reason we can figure that it would take them so long). Here’s what they had to say about it:
In an attempt to get our customers back online as soon as we can, we’ve restored your server content from our emergency backups. These backups may have been made up to several weeks ago and may not contain the most up-to-date content from your sites and email. This is only temporary. Once our system engineers have restored the previous storage segment, we will merge this data back into your service.
Thanks for sticking with us, and again, we’re sorry the site has been down for so long. We’re all hoping things will be back in order soon.
The Editors

Times of economic uncertainty make us all the more thankful for the little things on this Thanksgiving Day 2008. Things like a roof over our heads, food on our tables, our health, you our readers, and the new MacBook Pro that will allow us to keep this site updated from anywhere in the world.
We’re also thankful that we live in the best place on earth, Carlsbadistan, and that you are our neighbors. Happy Thanksgiving, Carlsbad!
If you have something you are thankful for, please leave it in the comments.

We had a little running battle with Marc Farrar, the vice president of public affairs for TWC’s San Diego Division about what we called “sucky service” from the cable giant. He then posted a request that we remove a Time Warner Cable logo that we altered as a parody. We didn’t remove it.
To make sure that our complaints weren’t just personal, we decided to ask our readers to complete the following sentence: Time Warner Cable is. . . and below is how you answered:
Evidently, the majority of the people (77 percent) seriously dislike the service they get from Time Warner Cable. And we agree. That’s why we cancelled our service months ago.

We’ve been messing around with twitter for a while now. But we initailly wanted to wait until we were absolutely sure that we had something important to say before we announced it to the world.
If you have a twitter account, and you know what we’re talking about, please follow us and we promise that we will occasionally tweet. It may simply be about the weather, the waves, or who we just saw getting arrested, but at least it will show we care. And, you can tweet us back. We’ll be one big happy tweeting, twittering, Carlsbadistan family.
