After a short two-gig stop in the heart of Carlsbadistan TGIF Jazz in the Park is wading back into the suburbs and the cool, breezy beauty of Calavera Hills Park at 2997 Glasgow Drive with the hard-driving blues craftsmanship of the Bill Magee Blues Band. A review on Bill’s website sums it up pretty well.
For those few of you who haven’t had a Bill Magee experience, don’t hesitate to get out there and see this band! This group delivers some of the finest blues you’ll ever hear and it was enough to get music fans of all ages dancing and air guitaring.
We’ve also heard rumors that back in the day Bill (known as Willie then) used to play with a guitarist named Jimmy James. . . Purple Haze indeed. The show starts at 6 PM. Bring a picnic dinner and your dancin’ shoes.
