Award-winning actress and singer Hilary Duff helped Santa pull the switch to light the world’s largest LEGO® Christmas tree at Legoland California Resort during the 15th annual tree lighting ceremony in Carlsbad, California last night (Monday, November 27, 2017).
“We feel so fortunate to be at LEGOLAND California Resort, “ said Duff. “We spent the whole day with family and close friends and this is definitely one of our favorite places. We had the best stay at Legoland Hotel and now Luca wants to know why his room at home can’t look like the pirate bunk bed room at the hotel!”
At the ceremony, Legoland California Resort donated $10,000 on Duff’s behalf to Baby2Baby, which provides low-income children ages 0-12 years with diapers, clothing and other basic necessities. By distributing to non-profit partner organizations including homeless and domestic violence shelters, Head Start programs, foster care programs and children’s hospitals, Baby2Baby will serve more than 150,000 children in Los Angeles this year and tens of thousands more across the country through the Baby2Baby National Network.

The founder of Carlsbad’s most successful publishing businesses Louise Hay died in her sleep on August 30, 2017 of natural causes according to a release from Hay House. Hay was 90.
Considered by many to be a founder of the “self-help” movement Hay published her first book Heal Your Body in 1976 when she was 50 and went on to publish books by some of the biggest names in the business like Dr. Wayne Dyer, Doreen Virtue, Dr. Christiane Northrup, and Esther and Jerry Hicks, among others.
“Meeting Louise changed the direction of my life,” said Reid Tracy, President and CEO of Hay House, Inc. “Her passion for serving others translated into everything she did. Simply by working alongside her, an analytical accountant like me transformed into someone who became aware of the power of affirmations and self-love. Being able to learn from her has been one of my life’s greatest blessings. The beauty of Louise was that you didn’t have to work alongside her to learn from her, you felt like you were there with her with every word you read or heard.”

Poinsettia Community Park is located 6600 Hidden Valley Road in Carlsbad, California. Parking shuttle service operates between 4:30 to 9 p.m. from North Coast Calvary Chapel, 1330 Poinsettia Lane.
