Hawk #3 On Forbes List of Influential Athletes

by The Editors on December 13, 2008

1212 Influential 03Forbes Magazine just released its list of the 10 Most Influential Athletes and Carlsbadistan resident Tony Hawk weighed in at number three behind Tiger Woods and Lance Armstrong and ahead of Peyton Manning, Shaq, and several Nascar drivers. Here’s what they said:

This month, Hawk competed in the All ’80s All Day Vert Challenge, his first competition in eight years. Fittingly, the man who won many times during his storied career came out on top again. Hawk’s influence is evident in the popularity of the videogame franchise named after him. The skater also owns his own film and TV production company.

Congrats, Tony. We’re just proud that you call Carlsbad home.

And Sometimes You Are Out . . . At Legoland

by The Editors on November 23, 2008

Heidi-Klum-Johan-BirthdayYesterday, the host of Project Runway Heidi Klum spent the day with her mother and kids: Leni, 4, Henry, 3, Johan, 2 at Carlsbadistan’s Legoland, according to the blog Just Jared.

Heidi was seen taking to the skies and playing on the helicopter ride with her kids. Henry was seen polishing off a bag of cheetos. Johan sucked on his pacifier and was pushed in his stroller by grandma Erna.

Hopefully, they didn’t spend too much time in little Las Vegas. . .
