Carlsbad Teen Battle Of The Bands

On Saturday, January 28, 2012 the City of Carlsbad Parks & Recreation Department will present Teen Scene, a talent show from 4 to 9 PM at the Calavera Hills Community Center.

The event features a “Battle of the Bands” judged by local music industry experts, a film festival with 5-minute movie shorts, a dance room with a D.J. featuring the Dance Unlimited dancers,” Gametruck, as well as an art café and game room. . . “All the music, films and art showcased at Teen Scene are created by local teens between the ages of 13 and 19. The event fosters teen expression in a safe and fun environment,” said Rachael Shay, special events supervisor for the city. “Past winners of the ‘Battle of the Bands’ have gone on to open for major rock acts, play legendary venues and get airplay on local commercial radio stations, so it’s a pretty big deal, and a thrill to see the bands’ hard work pay off.”

Save $3 by ordering discount pre-sale tickets. Pre-sale tickets, available for $5, will be on sale until 5 p.m. January 27 by calling 760-602-7510. Tickets are $8 at the door.
