Get Down To Business At The Library

For the next four months the Carlsbad City Library will host free business workshops at the libraries Gowland Meeting Room at 1775 Dove Lane. Topics will cover Building Business on Facebook, Link Up on LinkedIn, Steps to Starting a Business, and Doing Business in Carlsbad.

Now that we mention it, we’re realizing it might not be a bad idea for us to attend a couple of these. Most importantly, the Doing Business in Carlsbad session taught by Cith of Carlsbad Economic Development Manager Kathy Dobson, PhD. Couldn’t hurt right? Carlsbad City Library will host free business workshops on Jan. 29, Feb. 26, March 26 and April 30 from 7-8 p.m. at the library’s Gowland Meeting Room, located at 1775 Dove Lane. Jan. 29: Building Business on Facebook
Learn how to establish a more personalized and interactive presence for you and your business on Facebook. Workshop will be led by Bridget Ayers, president of Get Smart Web Consulting, a web presence and digital strategy firm with offices in Carlsbad and Florida. With a background in business, finance and marketing, Bridget has received training and speaking awards as well as writing and blogging accolades.

Feb. 26: Link Up on LinkedIn
Learn how to build on established business connections and create new business building relationships by augmenting your in-person networking with a little online networking. Workshop will be led by Bridget Ayers.

March 26: Steps to Starting a Business
Are you getting ready to launch your business? Make sure you’re headed in the right direction. This workshop will be led by Joe Molina, director of The Business & Entrepreneurship Center at MiraCosta College. April 30: Doing Business in Carlsbad
Meet City of Carlsbad Economic Development Manager Kathy Dodson, PhD., who will share information about doing business in Carlsbad and answer your questions. Kathy has more than 20 years of experience working for public and private sector organizations. She currently serves as the business community’s main point of contact with the city, helping to identify ways the city can help businesses prosper.
