New Village Arts: Inside The Cuckoo’s Nest

The Foundry Studios, the art gallery portion of the New Village Arts Theatre is presenting an art show titled Inside The Cuckoo’s Nest in the lobby at New Village Arts Theatre, Saturday, March 30 through Sunday, April 21.

The resident artists at THE FOUNDRY STUDIOS present art themed to the new play at New Village Arts Theatre, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, an epic American classic that fights for the freedom of the human mind. Brawler Randle P. McMurphy feigns insanity to serve out his prison sentence at a mental institution controlled by Nurse Ratched, who dominates with a kind of violence that McMurphy can’t fight with his fists. The battle for control of the ward pushes rivals to the breaking point.

The opening reception for the art show is Saturday, March 30, 2013 from 6-8 pm. The New Village Arts Theatre is located at 2787 State Street in Carlsbad Village. The Foundry Studios leases work space for artists to create their art in a harmonious atmosphere in synergy with other artists and visitors, and takes advantage of the close connection with the adjoining theatre. The resulting vibrant experience enhances the art, the artists, the visitors, the theatre and the Village of Carlsbad.

ABOUT NEW VILLAGE ARTS:
New Village Arts Theatre was founded in April 2001 by graduates of New York’s Actors Studio Drama School and is now in its twelfth season of producing critically-acclaimed theatre in North County San Diego. New Village Arts opened its new theatrical space in the heart of Carlsbad Village in June of 2007, and THE FOUNDRY STUDIOS (16 working artists’ studios) in August of 2009.
